🏨 Your (Not So) New Favorite Hotel Program

Plus, a sneaky good transfer bonus

Well, a very merry weekend to all of you. 😌

I just stepped off the bunny slope long enough to regain feeling in my toes and walk you through the biggest travel stories of the week.

One of those tasks is going smoothly. (It’s not the skiing.)

Let’s dive right in.

✈️ Virgin Atlantic is dishing out 12k miles with its new loyalty perk, High Five.

🌟 There’s a 70% transfer bonus from UR points to Marriott Bonvoy (ends Nov. 30).

🎥 What the heck is a positioning flight? Everything you need to know is in this week’s Daily Drop YouTube video.

🏆 Our Favorite Pick: Your (Not So) New Favorite Hotel Program

Some hotel programs wow you with these crazy, “once-in-a-lifetime” redemptions.

That’s great and all, but this one is impressing us by making travel… absurdly easy.

Accor Live Limitless caught our attention this week, not because it’s flashy, but because it’s super, duper practical.

Instead of award charts or guessing what a room should cost in points, Accor keeps it very simple: 2,000 points = €40 off your bill.

To put this into perspective, here’s a centrally located hotel in Athens that goes for €69, or 2,000 points + €29.

Meanwhile, for those same dates and that same neighborhood? Marriott starts at 22,000 points, and Hilton (farther out) starts at 34,000.

So yeah… mic drop. 🎤

No blackout dates. No calendar digging. Just apply a small chunk of points and move on with your life.

Accor is mainly known for consistency and footprint, especially in places where Marriott, Hyatt, and friends fall short.

And while it has plenty of high-end properties (think brands like Banyan Tree, Pullman, Raffles, and Fairmont), many properties are budget-to-midscale – which means that €40 goes farther than you’d expect.

And yes, none of the major programs transfers 1:1 to Accor. But the ratios still check out.

For example:

  • 3,000 Bilt or Rove points → 2,000 Accor points

  • 4,000 Capital One miles → 2,000 Accor points

In other words, you transfer a few thousand credit card points… and call it a day!

Again, it’s not the program you’ll use for aspirational stays, but as a reliable, global option for practical travel, it’s hard to ignore.

📌 Quick Tip: If you’re thinking about building this into your 2026 plan: The [[ capital-one-venture-x-rewards-credit-card.name ]] is offering [[ capital-one-venture-x-rewards-credit-card.signup-bonus-miles ]] miles right now, which converts into 60,000 Accor points under their transfer ratio. That’s not a hypothetical “points valuation…” it’s real, usable credit for your next trip.

If you only circle back to one thing this week, make it this one. It might honestly be the most dependable travel strategy you add this year.

Still processing how good Accor is? Same. Thankfully, Mike wrote an award-eligible exposé about it… find it here.

🌍 Week in Review

That’s all from the slopes for now. ❤️

If I survive this weekend (uncertain), I’ll be back next weekend with more travel wins, possibly with some bruises, and hopefully, another loyalty program to obsess about.
