Good morning and welcome to Daily Drop, the newsletter that you’re about to tell all your friends about… or at least one of them. But more on that in a bit. 😉
Here’s what we got cooking today:
⚙️ The Ultimate Travel Hacker’s Toolkit
🏨 Hyatt’s back for some double trouble this summer
🌎 Where in the World Wednesday: Osaka, Japan
⚙️ The Ultimate Travel Hacker’s Toolkit
You know what would be awesome?
A place where we could all go to access the best tools and resources for travel hacking. I’m talking spreadsheets, cheat sheets, guides, video tutorials, and all that jazz.
It’s too bad no such thing exists… Or does it…? 😏
That’s right, we’ve created such a thing in the form of a saucy PDF filled with travel hacking tools, such as:
🥂 Ultimate guide to lounge access
✈️ Various travel hacking webinars featuring the Daily Drop team
💳 Credit card transfer partners cheat sheet
🤩 More
How might you obtain such a PDF, you ask? Well, that’s the good news; It’s crazy easy. So easy a caveman could do it (please don’t sue me, GEICO 🦎).
All you need to do is use our fancy Daily Drop referral program to refer ONE single human to our newsletter.
That’s right, one singular referral will unlock this toolkit FOREVER. That means whenever we make additions and updates to it, you’ll have access to them all.
As a quick reminder, you can find your unique referral link further down in the newsletter every day. Or, if you’re a lazy piece of poop like me, you can just click this convenient button right here. 👇
🏨 Hyatt’s back for some double trouble this summer
There are few things I love in this world more than points. My sweet angel of a cat (Tilly), my partner, and a Lawson egg salad sandwich (more on that in a future newsletter) are a few that come to mind.
But one thing that beats *almost* all of those (I’m choosing my words here carefully) is a good ole’ fashioned hotel promo… especially one that gives me MORE points.
That is exactly what’s happening with Hyatt this summer (yay).
This summer, Hyatt is awarding DOUBLE points for hotels in select regions around the world.
Here are the deets:
Between July 1st and September 15th, earn double base points on all Hyatt stays in the following regions:
Europe
Africa
Middle East
Asia Pacific
You must register for the offer by July 31st
You can earn a maximum of 25,000 bonus points
My first reaction to this announcement was, “Ummm really? Another promotion? Already? In THIS economy??”
As you know, Hyatt JUST finished up their last Bonus Journeys promotion, which I know many of you took advantage of.
Personally, I earned 39,000 bonus points from that promotion, along with Globalist status from their Bilt Rent Day promo.
The fact that they’re already dropping a new one on us is just… well… very generous.
As I’ve told you, Hyatt has some amazing and cheap properties around the world, like this one that I’m staying at in Johannesburg, South Africa for nine nights later this year:
That means I’ll not only be getting a DIRT CHEAP hotel for $39 a night, but also:
Double points
Globalist points bonus
Elite night credits toward milestone rewards
Free breakfast
To get all of those benefits and extra points at just $39 per night? I’m VERY PLEASED.
This is just another strong example of how Hyatt often puts every other hotel program to shame and another vote in favor of getting involved with their program.
🌎 Where in the World Wednesday: Osaka, Japan
Konichiwa, friends! Over the last week, we’ve seen a handful of amazing flight deals come through for none other than… Japan! So today, we’re heading to Osaka 🇯🇵
It’s no secret that Japan is one of the most marvelous countries to visit. Seriously, ask anyone who’s been!
The food scene is impeccable (hellooo sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, wagyu, onigiri, takoyaki, etc., etc., etc.). I could easily drop another 20+ food items on this list.
In fact, when it comes to Michelin stars, Japan ranks as having the second most in the world with only France beating it out ever so slightly.
Osaka, specifically, has been deemed the food capital of Japan. So much so, that the term kuidaore was developed by this food fascination to mean “eat ‘til you drop.”
I’m certain I’ve experienced this kuidaore a time… or four… or fourteen 🙃
I also love it for its blend of old and modern—something that the entire country seems to do so well.
For example, you can peer at the noble 16th-century Osaka Castle perched on its hill, then look to your left and see neon signs selling poop emoji suckers and animatronic cats. I just love Japan for this 😅
Osaka also has a raging cat cafe scene for all of the extra cool people here. And although it’s not in Osaka, you may or may not remember that our traveling buddies Kara and Nate stayed in Japan’s only cat hotel a few months ago ☺️
There weren’t any complimentary poop emoji suckers, but there was definitely… 💩
Osaka has so much more to offer than what we could possibly mention in this newsletter section, so if you’d like to find a cheap flight there for yourself, FareDrop is your go-to guy!
