Oh, hey there. Welcome back to Daily Drop!

It’s a new month, folks. And as we approach the end of the year, my mind is focused on one question:

Which points do I want to earn more of?

So today, I’m going to talk you through some credit card deals and strategies I’m personally thinking about.

Here we go:

šŸ”„ United cards are lit right now

Here’s the situation I’m in when it comes to points:

I’ve got millions of hotel points, millions of transferable points, and NOT millions of airline miles.

Obviously, transferable points are the most valuable…

But there are some currencies that don’t transfer to many banks, and I want to load up on them.

One of those currencies is United Miles. And right now, United has some pretty solid offers on their co-branded credit cards.

The best one is the cheapest one

United has one mid-tier card that is currently offering the chance to earn up to 80,000 miles after you meet the spending requirements and add an authorized user.

The best part?

The annual fee is waived for the first year. šŸ˜Ž

United has some great deals on its own flights, especially when saver awards are available. More and more, I’m seeing United as the cheapest option for flights I’m looking at.

That’s why United miles are on my radar.

Also, you can earn up to 100,000 miles with this United business card after meeting the pretty low spending requirements… plus the annual fee is modest too.

The cards have some nice benefits too

For me, these offers are all about racking up miles.

But if you are a United loyalist or fly them with relative frequency, the card benefits alone could make it worth signing up.

For example, you’ll get access to discounted award flights just by being a cardholder, and it’s actually quite meaningful.

They advertise a 10% discount on points flights, but you’ll likely find flights with much, MUCH higher discounts than that, as you can see.

On top of that, some of the cards (including the one I referenced earlier) come with United Club lounge passes, which alone could pay for the annual fee (although the annual fee on that one is waived in the first year, so it’s $0).

Anyway, the cards come with many more useful benefits, so I recommend you check them out on our site and consider adding one to your wallet.

Personally, I think people are sleeping on some of these offers right now. šŸ‘‡

šŸ’³ The newest card in my wallet

As I mentioned earlier, United is on my radar….

But there’s another card that is not on my radar, because I got it already. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

It’s the Atmos Summit card, the newer premium card from Atmos Rewards and Bank of America, and I just was approved for it. Yay!

To be honest, I always knew I’d have to get this card, and I’ll tell you why:

Reason #1: I’m an Atmos Boiā„¢ļø

I love Atmos points. I already told you about my new favorite sweet spot with them earlier this month.

But I use Atmos points all over the world, like last year when I flew all around Oceania with Atmos points on airlines like Qantas and Fiji Airways.

I also love my Atmos Titanium status, which gets me oneworld Emerald perks around the world.

But sadly, my status is expiring…

And that’s where this card comes in, since it earns 1 status point for every $2 spent. My plan is to put basically all of my spending on the card for the next year.

That, combined with the 10,000 status points you get every year at the card anniversary, will get me well on my way to good status again.

Reason #2: This card was basically made for me

One of the most unique things about the card is that it earns 3x Atmos points on ALL international purchases.

And as someone who hasn’t lived in the U.S. since 2017…. Literally all of my purchases are ā€œinternational.ā€ šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

And since the card is a Visa, I can use it here in Canada and anywhere else in the world to earn 3x Atmos points on everything, which is fantastic.

Reason #3: No partner booking fees

If you weren’t aware, Atmos charges a $20 fee when booking award flights with partners.

You can cancel these awards anytime and get your points and taxes back, but that $20 is nonrefundable.

But if you hold the Summit card, that fee is waived.

This year alone, I’ve spent close to $300 on just those fees between all of the flights I’ve booked for myself and others.

That alone almost justifies the annual fee for me, meaning I’m effectively paying $95 for all of those other benefits I mentioned.

But there’s one final reason I chose right now to snag the card… šŸ‘‡

Reason #4: The welcome offer

Right now, the card is offering 100,000 Atmos points AND a 25,000-point companion certificate after opening the card and spending $6,000 in the first 90 days.

That alone is a good reason to get the card, since 100,000 Atmos points could easily be redeemed for $2,000+ in value.

Anyway, go check out the card on Atmos’ site if you’re interested.
