Good morning from Mexico City International Airport!
Iām gearing up for one of the busiest travel months of my lifeā¦ but itās nothing a coffee (or ten) canāt help me get through.
Speaking of travel, letās talk about it:

šØ Buy a Nordic hotel pass for this summer
Despite being a pretty stingy human, I somehow have no problem shelling out some bucks when it comes to travel.
But thereās one part of the world that is often so unbearably expensive that I justā¦ canātā¦ I canāt do it.
Iām talking aboutā¦ you guessed itā¦ Scandinaviaā¦ especially in the summer. š¬
Thankfully, Strawberry Hotels has a new offer to help us solve this problem for the 2024 summer season.
Woah, woah, woahā¦ waitā¦ WTF is āStrawberry Hotels?ā š¤
They used to be known as āNordic Choiceā hotels, which is essentially the same as āChoice Hotels,ā but in Scandinavia.
So youāll recognize many of Strawberryās brands like Comfort Hotels, Quality Hotels, Clarion Hotels, and more.
Anyway, theyāre offering a Summer Pass that allows you to prepay for various numbers of hotel nights at fixed rates:
Five-night pass for ā¬500 (ā¬100 per night)
Ten-night pass for ā¬800 (ā¬80 per night)
Once you have this pass, you can redeem your hotel nights at dozens of properties around Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and even Lithuania!
Before we go any further, I want to point out some of the fine print here:
Not every hotel in these countries is participating. You can see the full list on this website
The stay window is from June 19 to August 25, 2025.
Breakfast is included with your stay (nice š)
There are some blackout dates
You do not need to book consecutive nights. You could even redeem them as one-night stays if you want!
The nights are redeemable for two people staying in a double room
All in all, the restrictions are pretty reasonable, and the website does a great job of making the parameters clear, so I approve. š
And as you might imagine, booking hotels for a flat rate of ā¬80 or ā¬100 per night in Scandinavia could save you boatloads of cash.
For example, this hotel in Oslo costs $787 for a five-night stay in the summer.
By buying the five-night pass for just ā¬500, youāre saving around $287 on this stay, which is EXCELLENT.
If youāre planning a longer trip through multiple Scandinavian cities, the ten-night pass could easily save you hundreds of dollars on multiple stays in different cities.
So hereās the bottom line:
Scandinavia is a popular tourist hotspot in the summer. This hotel pass allows you to join in on the Nordic fun without breaking the bank.

š¤ Travel Trivia Tuesday
Can you guess how long the worldās longest cruise lasts? |

And the correct answer isā¦ 274 days!
Yep, Royal Caribbean offers a cruise that lasts nearly nine months, yāall. It's called the Ultimate World Cruise, and it was wildly ambitious.
This insane journey starts in Miami and hits 150+ destinations in 65 countries across all seven continents, including stops in Brazil (for New Yearās Eve at Christ the Redeemer), Morocco, Antarctica, Australiaās Great Barrier Reef, and Beijing.
While they havenāt released new dates yet, the last one ended in February of last year, so keep an eye out.
They use a ship called the Serenade of the Seas, a 13-deck floating city complete with a rock-climbing wall, mini-golf course, pool, spa, and more.
Prices start at a small $61,000 per person for an interior room
ā and thatās if you donāt splurge on a balcony or suite.
If youāve ever wanted to combine a gap year with a luxury hotel on water, this pretty much fits the bill. Just make sure your out-of-office reply is ready to goā¦ for 274 days.
