Good morning and welcome back from the weekend, friends.
We’ve got a good award sale to tell you about, along with an exciting opportunity to learn from some smart points experts this week.
Let’s get into it:

✈️ Save 30% on award flights from the U.S.
Turkish Airlines has launched an award sale that makes it super duper cheap to get yourself halfway around the world.
Specifically, it’s a 30% discount on economy-class award flights from select cities in the U.S. and Mexico.

The list of cities is as follows:
Atlanta
Boston
Denver
Detroit
Dallas
New York and Newark
Washington D.C.
Houston
Los Angeles
Miami
Chicago
Seattle
San Francisco
Mexico City
Cancun
Normally, it costs 40,000 Turkish miles to fly from those cities to Istanbul. With the discount, it drops to just 28,000 miles, which is pretty solid.
There is a catch:
You need to book your flights by May 22, and travel can only take place between October 1 and December 10, which is a pretty tight window.
Thankfully, availability seems to be really good:

To get this pricing, you need to book through Turkish Airlines using Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles.
You can easily get Turkish miles by transferring Capital One miles, ThankYou points, Bilt Rewards, or Rove Miles — all at a 1:1 ratio.
So if you recently racked up 75,000 miles from the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, you could book yourself a round-trip to Istanbul with this sale and still have plenty of miles leftover.
Even if you don’t want to travel to Turkey, you could use this sale to get yourself to Istanbul and book a cheap cash flight to another country like Greece, Bulgaria, Armenia, or Georgia.

Here’s the bottom line:
This sale is pretty niche, but it’s a great deal to get yourself pretty far if you’re looking to book a trip to that part of the world later this year.

🏆 Win from the Daily Drop Lounge
If you don’t know already, we have a Facebook group called the Daily Drop Lounge.
It’s a great place to hang out, learn from fellow travelers, and share your redemption wins.
For example, this lounge member just redeemed their points for a fancy-ass trip to Hong Kong in business class:

And for the record – please DO brag when you make an epic redemption like this one. 😉
Anyway, I assume this reader leveraged a recent transfer bonus to Flying Blue to get enough points for the booking.
It just goes to show why you should build up a stash of transferrable points and not be afraid to pull the trigger and transfer them when the stars align.
If you want to see more wins like this (or share your own), make sure you go join the Daily Drop Lounge:

😮💨 8 hours at SJO on airport Wi-Fi…
Hellooo friends! Alison here 👋 Just got back from Costa Rica, and boy… what a travel day getting there.
Red eye from California into San Jose, CR. Eight hours until my connecting flight. One option for internet: the free airport Wi-Fi that thousands of other travelers (and potential scammers) were also on.
The thing about airport Wi-Fi is that you don't know who set it up or who's watching it.
Now, it could be completely legit. Or…
It could be someone in Terminal B with a laptop and bad intentions. With Surfshark, it genuinely doesn't matter… my connection is encrypted either way. 😎
So, what did I comfortably do on that Wi-Fi during those 8 hours?
Safely logged into my bank account and paid my bills (I get antsy when my bills aren’t paid immediately)
Logged into all of my work accounts to get some tasks done while I waited
Booked a hotel for an August trip to London without worrying who could see my payment info
You can run Surfshark’s VPN on unlimited devices, and it takes about 10 seconds to set up. Then, it blocks ads and trackers so you can safely play in the sandbox of the interwebs. And after 8 hours in an airport, I was just glad I had one less thing to stress about.
Protect your data and go to surfshark.com/dailydrop or use code DAILYDROP at checkout to get 4 extra months of Surfshark VPN.

That’s all for today, friends!
Have a happy rest of your Monday, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Ciao,
