✈️ I want to hear about YOUR travels for a change
Plus, JetBlue starts of 2024 strong with their Winter Sale, and I'll drop some quick-hit travel hacks that you might not be aware of.
Estimated read time: 3 minutes and 8 seconds
🏛️ Want to avoid the crowds in Athens? Greece is offering tourists the ability to visit the Acropolis outside of normal operating hours… for a STEEP price… Read more here.
Good morning and welcome back to Daily Drop! We’ve got a fun surprise for you all today, so let’s get straight into the good stuff:
🌎 I want to hear about YOUR travels
I talk about my travels a lot here at the Daily Drop, but I want to know more about you and YOUR travels.
That's why we're conducting a community survey to learn more about how often you travel, which types of travel you like, and some other not-so-personal details.
Last year, we had some interesting and surprising results, like the fact that more than half of the readers had not been to an airport lounge before. 😮
This was back when we still had the word “the” in our name… Good times…
The survey only takes about a minute to complete, so I encourage you to click the button below and fill it out.
But since you're all so busy, I'll sweeten the pot… 😏
If you take ONE MINUTE to complete this survey, I’ll gift one lucky participant 10,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. These are my personal points that I am giving away.
That’s how badly I want to hear from you 🥹
If you don't care about Marriott points, I'll also offer a free hug and/or a firm handshake to anyone who completes the survey.
All you have to do is find me in an airport somewhere in the world. I'm serious.
Next week, I’ll share the results here in the newsletter so you can see how your travel habits and stats compare to hundreds of thousands of other Daily Drop readers.
So - pretty please - take one minute to help make the results as interesting as possible! 🙏🏼
✈️ JetBlue Winter Sale
There’s no better way to kick off the new year than with our favorite travel hack of all time—dirt-cheap flights.
Thanks to JetBlue’s new Big Winter Sale, there are plenty of good opportunities to do just that.
Here are the deets:
The sale is valid until January 10th
Valid for travel between January 17th and March 27th
This only applies to Tuesday and Wednesday travel (😡)
No promo code is required - discounted fares will show in the search results
Here are my thoughts:
Normally, when JetBlue has sales like this, it only lasts for a day or two. The fact that we have almost a week to plan, research, and book flights is awesome.
Of course, the Tuesday/Wednesday restriction is pretty limiting, but potentially worthwhile to plan your trips around if you can save a bunch of money.
I found some solid fares like New York and Boston to Amsterdam for under $300 one-way.
This is a pretty dope deal to fly nonstop from the U.S. to Europe on a good airline like JetBlue.
But if you want more of a warm beach getaway, there are also some amazing deals to places like Nassau in the Bahamas for just $69 one-way, which is also an amazing deal.
There are also dozens of cheap deals for domestic travel around the U.S., so I’d highly recommend searching JetBlue for any upcoming trips over the next couple of months.
Overall, this isn’t the most ground-breaking sale. Still, there are some highly discounted flights that might be worth considering for both domestic and international travel.
🎙️ Random, quick-hit travel hacks
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m currently huddled up in a yurt in Mongolia in sub-22-degree weather.
Despite the strange, remote accommodation, I actually booked this with points.
So, I thought it would be fun to record a podcast episode outlining some travel hacks that are either obscure, “off the beaten path,” or just things that you might not have thought of before.
In this episode, I’ll speed through seven quick, random hacks that I like to use that we don’t talk about often.
So go check out the episode. If you like it, you can even leave a review (pretty please 🙏🏼).
That’s all for this week, amigos. Next time you hear from me, I’ll be in the bustling Chinese capital city of Beijing, and I could not be more excited.
For now, however, take care and have an excellent weekend.
Yours truly,
