⛷️ Alaska Airlines wants to give you bonus miles to hit the slopes
I’m sure your first thoughts are… Tiffany, it’s August. The majority of the country is experiencing heat stroke levels of high temps right now 🥵
I knowww, but skiers and snowboarders are pretty intense people (who, I’m sure, are already thinking about the upcoming ski season—which is only a few months away, btw).
So… Alaska just partnered with The Mountain Collective, a seasonal ski pass program that gives you access to 24 ski resorts around the world… which is actually pretty cool.
The Mountain Collective ski resort locations
Here’s how it works.
Alaska Mileage Plan members (free to join) who purchase a new 2023-2024 season pass with The Mountain Collective will receive 5,000 bonus miles and a third day free at a resort of their choice.
If you have Mileage Plan elite status, you’ll get an additional 5,000 bonus miles (so 10,000 miles total!).
And if you’re wondering how that third day free works, The Mountain Collective pass provides you with two days of skiing at all 24 of their participating resorts, so at no additional cost, you can hang around for a third day.
Plus, Alaska considers ski and snowboard equipment normal checked luggage, so you won’t be flagged with additional fees that might otherwise be incurred for oversized bags 👍
BUT this is a limited-time offer that is available to sign up for until September 25th, 2023.
To get this deal, make sure you sign up for your Mountain Collective pass through Alaska’s partner link!
✈️ Avelo Air 50% discount TODAY ONLY
First off, meet Avelo! The airline that took flight for the first time in April of 2021 in hopes of delivering convenient, affordable, and reliable travel to 40 destinations around the U.S.
They pride themselves in serving some larger hubs but mainly cater to smaller, more convenient airports that give you access to some pretty cool places 👇
Now that you two are a little more acquainted, Avelo is having a last-minute sale where you can get 50% off ALL round trip or one-way bookings.
Here are the deets:
You must book your flight by TODAY, August 8th, 2023
Flights must take place between 9/1/23 and 9/30/23
Discount is not applied to taxes and fees (base fare only)
Use code SEPT50
If you’ve been eyeing a quick or last-minute getaway, and Avelo flies to a destination you’re interested in, this is a great opportunity to get a solid discount on their already affordable flights!
🌮 There’s a new hotel amenity in town: Taco Therapy
My initial thoughts were:
Dreams do come true!
But also, what?
There is an adults-only boutique hotel in Puerto Vallarta named Casa Velas, which, for the month of August, launched the most unique hotel amenity ever: Taco Therapy.
That’s right. I’m not kidding 😅
They say these tacos are meant to assist with anxiety and stress relief, improve sleep quality, and boost antioxidants.
They can offer you four types of tacos: an anti-anxiety taco, a dream taco, a stress-relieving taco, and an antioxidant taco.
The Taco Therapy experience is included in the nightly all-inclusive rate, and they’re only available for this month to coincide with August being National Wellness Month.
And just like that, I have a new bucket list experience that I never knew I wanted.
🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday
Correct answer: the Netherlands
Aaaaand, as of 2021, their flower bouquet exports reached a freakishly large value of $5.7 billion.
The Netherlands is a pretty big-time producer of cut flowers (obvi 👆), but they’re also a pretty huge trade hub, which is why their market is so large.
Apparently, the Netherlands has about 500 football fields of greenhouses and is home to 90% of Europe’s orchids!
