đȘđș EPIC award flights to Europe for summer & fall
Plus, we'll show you how to book a 3-day getaway to Colorado with your shiny new points.

Gooooooooood morning and welcome back to Daily Drop, the newsletter that apparently still thinks itâs 2022 (look at Fridayâs newsletter if you donât get the joke đ).
Anyway, Iâve got a fun one for you today:
âïž Flying Blue Promo Rewards (May 2024)
Itâs my favorite time of the month again, friends.
Iâm talking about the time of the month when Flying Blue (the points program of KLM and Air France) drops their monthly Promo Rewards.
This month includes discounted award flights from a number of North American cities to Europe, including one tiny Canadian city, too. đ
The routes that most of you will care about are as follows:
Austin to Europe for 15,000 miles (economy)
Los Angeles to Europe for 15,000 miles (economy)
Minneapolis to Europe for 15,000 miles (economy)
Quebec City to Europe for 15,000 miles (economy)
Itâs nice to see that Flying Blue is branching out beyond just the major East Coast cities this month.
Flying all the way from cities like Los Angeles to Europe for only 15k miles is a fantastic deal.
Sadly, there arenât any transfer bonuses to Flying Blue right now⊠but I wouldnât let that stop you from taking advantage of these deals.
Whatâs interesting about this month is that there are also some Promo Rewards that can take you all the way to Beijing, China, from Europe for just 18,750 miles.
This means that you could combine two Promo Rewards and fly to Europe for a week or two, then onwards to China for a grand total of just 33,750 miles.
Considering the distance, thatâs an unbeatable deal for flying to China with a makeshift stopover in Europe.
Anyway, here are a couple of pieces of fine print you should know about:
You must book your flights by May 31st to get these prices
Travel can take place through October 31st, 2024
These prices only apply to KLM and Air France flights, not partner awards
Overall, this is a great chance to book summer or fall travel to Europe at incredible rates.
Remember that almost every major bank allows you to transfer points to Flying Blue, so getting miles is easy as long as you have a credit card that earns transferrable points (check out our favorite ones here).
Even if you donât live in one of the cities offering these prices, you can always book a cheap positioning flight to snag a good deal.
đïž How to book a 3-day getaway to Colorado
Imagine you just signed up for the [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.name ]] (which has an elevated welcome offer of 75,000 [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]] right now, btw).
But youâll actually end up with 79,000 points at the very minimum just from hitting the spend requirement.
Or maybe you already have a stash of [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]] that youâre looking to burnâŠ
But⊠Life is busy, and getting time off is a challenge.
So you think to yourself, âI want an extended weekend getawayâthree days of quick, easy, blissful travel.â
Well, dang. Is this the newsletter for you because Iâm going to give you a little travel inspo to plan for the perfect 3-day getaway using your shiny new [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]]!
Where should you go?
How about Colorado this summer đ
Why should you go to Colorado?
Scroll up and look at that picture again⊠thatâs why đ
Honestly, some of the most beautiful, open landscapes are in places like Aspen, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, and Keystone (just to name a few).
The outdoor recreation is unmatched, so if youâre into hiking, biking, camping, or anything in between⊠Colorado is your paradise.
How do you get there?
There are many options to get to this corner of the U.S. of A., but hereâs just one example.
You could transfer some of your [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]] over to United to fly into Denver from dozens of cities around the country đ
Example route from Chicago to Denver
And with the cash value of this flight being $185, youâre getting a reasonable 2.3 cents per point in value.
Cash price example for same flight above
Assuming youâre taking your partner along for the ride, both of your round-trip flights will cost you 15,600 points per person, or 31,200 points total.
How do you stay there?
One of the most valuable transfer partners for your [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]] is Hyatt.
Now many of these more âluxuryâ locations arenât cheap⊠as the name implies. But hereâs a beautiful Category 4 Hyatt property for 12,000 points per night in Keystone.
Thereâs availability for the next several months!
If youâre doing a two-night/three-day getaway, this hotel will cost you 24,000 Hyatt points total (aka 24,000 [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency ]] [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.points-program-override.points-currency-short ]]).
So, for two people venturing out on an extended weekend trip, youâll use 55,200 points to offset the major expenses of this trip. đ
And with that, youâll still have 23,800 points left over from your original 79,000 to put towards future travel đ€
Sometimes, using your miles and points can be an extreme process for a complicated international trip.
But other times⊠it can be quite simple to book a quick and easy getaway with little effort!
