Plus, JetBlue is back with their Big Fall Sale and $34 flights

Estimated read time: 3 minutes and 26 seconds

✂︎ After a pair of scissors went missing yesterday, an airport in Japan shut down fearing a security breach. After 35 flights were canceled and another 190 delayed, the scissors were never found. 🤦‍♂️

Good morning from Astana, the city formerly known as Nur-Sultan… formerly known as… Astana.

This quirky city has changed its name no fewer than six times in recent history, which is wild.

Anyway, let’s talk turkey:

✈️ Book JetBlue flights for $34

Points and miles are great. But in my opinion, nothing beats good old-fashioned dirt-cheap flights.

JetBlue is an airline that often offers such flights, including right now!

With JetBlue’s new “Big Fall Sale,” you can book dozens of super cheap flights all over the U.S. and abroad.

JetBlue's Big Fall Sale

You have just a couple of days to book these flights, as the sale ends on August 23rd.

As you can see from this banner, flights start at a tasty $49.

But wait…

On their home page, the banner at the top of the website shows something different…

Oh, awesome! Flights for just $39!! 🙌

BUT WAIT…

The sale page ALSO shows flights for as little as $34 one way!

So JetBlue gets a D- for clarity here. But they get an A+ for the deal itself.

If you comb through the sale page, you’ll find plenty of options for $39 and $49 flights.

For example, flights between Charleston and Boston or New York will go for just $49.

Flights from Charleston for $49

If you’re in the New York area, there are some excellent deals to cities like Miami and Nashville, also for just $49.

So here’s the bottom line:

This is par for the course from JetBlue, and they often offer sales like this.

Still, getting such cheap flights on a good airline like JetBlue is something anyone should take advantage of - just make sure you do it before August 23rd!

🇨🇦 Earn an easy 6k Aeroplan points

Last week, I told you about how Aeroplan is one of the best programs for literally everyone.

Considering the many ways you can use Aeroplan points (including on domestic United flights in the U.S.), racking up easy Aeroplan points is always a good idea.

Right now, you can earn 6,000 bonus Aeroplan points when booking a trip from the U.S. to Canada on Air Canada.

Aeroplan's new bonus to earn 6,000 bonus points

Here are the other details:

  • You must book your flights by September 1st

  • Travel can take place between September 1st, 2024 and March 30th, 2025

  • You must register for the offer

  • You must book either a round-trip or two one-way flights

  • Basic Economy is excluded from eligibility

Overall, this is great for anyone looking to travel to Canada in the next seven months, which is a HUGE window.

Air Canada also offers some excellent pricing between certain city pairs.

For example, you can fly from Fort Lauderdale to Montreal for just $69 one-way (or $138 round trip), which is a fantastic deal.

Various flight combinations between the U.S. and Canada

If you’re on the West Coast, you can fly from Los Angeles to Vancouver (my personal favorite city in Canada) for the same price.

Having an extra 6,000 Aeroplan points is easily worth over $120, so you’re basically getting close to a 100% return on some of these routes.

So here’s the bottom line:

If you’ve been eyeing a trip to Canada for any time in the next seven months, register for this offer and book your flights before September 1st to get a nice chunk of Aeroplan points. 👍

But honestly, what’s better than heading to Hawaii for a much-needed vacay…

How about saving a crap-ton of cash by getting there on miles and points 😏

Because we all know the big island comes with a big price tag, but fortunately, there are some tips and tricks to getting there without breaking the bank.

And some of these tips might surprise you… like booking with Turkish Airlines… to go to Hawaii??

That’s right 😎

Brendan also covers other ways to get there through Oneworld partners, Southwest (a fan favorite), and even Hawaiian Airlines themselves.

So if you’re in the process of planning a trip to Hawaii, don’t pass up this video—your wallet (and future miles and points street cred) will thank you.

That’s all for today, folks! Cheap flights and bonus points are always nice to see, so make sure you hop on these deals before it’s too late.

But don’t worry—there are plenty more opportunities on the way, so make sure you tune in tomorrow.
