🫢 TRENDING TRAVEL NEWS 🫢
• Minor Mishaps: Some travel chaos ensued when the Daily Drop team went to Costa Rica on a retreat– though big shoutout to our host Pura Vida Adventures, they were awesome!
• Undiscovered: Here’s what we know so far about former Soviet state Turkmenistan tentatively reopening to tourism.
• Iconic: The beloved Pan Am brand just launched Pan Am Journeys – luxury expeditions that retrace the airline’s original routes.
• Slush Fund: If you need some SkyMiles to book a deal mentioned below, this card is our pick – it’s offering up to 100,000 miles right now when you meet the minimum spend.

Good morning from my Turkish Airlines cocoon, which looks a little something like this:

I cancelled my economy-class flight and booked this one with less than 12-hours notice, which is a good reminder that the best points deals always pop up at the last minute! 😉
Speaking of deals, I’ve got some good ones today:

✈️ Delta SkyMiles flash sale (today only)
You might find this hard to believe, but there was a period of time when Delta SkyMiles were considered to be basically useless.
Somehow, in the last couple of years, this has completely turned around.
Nowadays, we see such frequent award sales that I think it’s always worth having some SkyMiles on hand.
For example, there’s a current flash sale (which ends TODAY) that could yield some insane value.

Psssttt… wanna hear about these flash sales sooner? Our Daily Drop Pro members get notified as soon as they’re announced. Join Pro here.
As with all Delta sales, I recommend checking out the sale page, entering your home airport, and seeing what’s available.
Right off the bat, I found some nice deals from basically everywhere.
For example, you can fly from Atlanta to Tulum, Mexico, for just 16,000 SkyMiles round-trip – which is a fantastic deal.

If you’re looking to stay stateside, flights between Boston and Miami are just 10,000 SkyMiles round-trip or 5,000 miles each way, which is… almost unheard of.

But these deals get even better…
If you hold a Delta co-branded card (all of which have elevated offers right now), you’ll get an extra 15% discount on these prices thanks to Delta’s TakeOff15 benefit.
If you don’t have a Delta card, you can also always transfer MR points to Delta at a 1:1 ratio.
When prices are this good, I’d say using your MR points for Delta is a totally acceptable move. 😉

💳 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic
Right. I’ll just get straight into it.
As I shared a couple of weeks ago, you can currently get a 30% bonus when you transfer UR points to Virgin Atlantic.
This is great… but it’s also not anything crazy. At this point, I basically expect a 30-40% transfer bonus to Virgin to pop up every month or two.
And since I’ve told you about the many great ways to use Virgin miles to fly in economy, I want to mix it up today and talk about some other sweet spots and partner awards.
For starters, you can fly Virgin itself from the U.S. to Europe for as few as 29,000 miles in Upper Class (Virgin’s business class), even from cities like Miami.

The taxes are steep on these flights, but for just 23,000 UR points, it’s still a solid deal, in my opinion.
But if you want some long, premium flights without the high cash cost, that’s also doable.
For example, you can fly from the West Coast to Asia for just 85,000 Virgin miles in business class.
This flight on Korean Air from Vancouver to Seoul would only cost you 65,000 MR points and $42 USD in taxes and fees. 👇

Plus, Korean Air uses its fancy new Prestige Suites on routes to Vancouver, Seattle, and Honolulu.
I had the chance to fly this suite last year, and it was amazing (you can read my review here).

Anyway, 11 hours in that massive suite for just 65k points is a steal.
One other cool flight I found was this Air France flight between Miami and the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
It’ll run you just 30,000 Virgin miles in business class:

With the transfer bonus, that’s just 23,000 UR points.
It’s not the longest flight, but it’s 3 hours in Air France business class with only $6 in fees, which is fantastic.
This is why it’s always good to diversify your points balances and have some UR points handy (and if you need some… this card is offering 100,000 of them right now after you meet the minimum spending requirements).
When transfer bonuses like this pop up, there are usually deals for any type of traveler!

☀️ Summer heat meets its match
Summer is in full force, which means BBQs, pool parties, and beach trips — all the long days in the sun. ☀️
And while there’s fun to be had in the sun, it can really take it out of you, too.
Especially if you live somewhere hot, where sweating becomes a full-time job. 🥵
I don’t know about y’all, but dehydrated, tired, and just plain worn out is not the way I want to spend my summer nights.
Luckily, LMNT has perfected the mid-afternoon pick-me-up with their new Lemonade Iced Tea. 😎

They took all the normal LMNT goodness — 1000mg sodium, 200mg potassium, 60mg magnesium, and none of the sugar — and bumped it up a notch with 50mg of naturally occurring caffeine with L-theanine and polyphenols, thanks to the addition of organic black tea extract.
The result?
All the same hydration benefits but lightly caffeinated to give me a gentle boost without keeping me up all night.
It’s an ice-cold Arnold Palmer meets performance level hydration — now, that’s my idea of a refreshing start to a summer happy hour.
Beat the heat and snag this limited-time flavor while it lasts, friends.
Stay hydrated this summer and get a FREE sample pack with any purchase at DrinkLMNT.com/DAILYDROP.

That’s it for today, friends! I know the Delta sale is pretty last-minute… but I hope you’re able to lock in some good deals while the getting is good.
See you tomorrow 🫡
