🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday: This country has the longest coastline in the world and more lakes than the rest of the world combined... do you know it?

Good morning and welcome back to Daily Drop, where we solve all of the world's problems one travel hack at a time.

Ok, maybe not aaaalllll of them, but we're getting pretty close.

Here's what today holds:

🌍 Travel Tournament Elite 8 (part 2)

Welcome back, all you elitists! We’ve got our second and final round of the Elite 8 brackets today.

Yesterday’s round was super tough, but I’m excited to share the results with you all later this week 😏

Here’s what today’s situation looks like.

I was really surprised to see that Antarctica beat out Bali—by a lot! I think if that question had been asked even five years ago, most people would have seen Antarctica as this unreachable place to add to their bucket list.

So it’s cool to see these unique destinations become more accessible and interesting to the general population. Isn’t traveling just so great? 🥹

Today, you are tasked to choose your top two among these four…

On Friday, we’ll be voting on the… get ready for it… FINAL FOUR. I can hardly wait! 🤗

💳 Bilt partners with Lyft to give you even more points

I know the title of this segment (and newsletter) isn’t the most exciting. But you’re going to want to keep reading because it’s WAY better than you think… 😏

Bilt has recently partnered with Lyft to give you up to 5x Bilt points on all rides booked.

You may remember when I told you about how you can earn Hilton points or Delta miles by linking your Lyft accounts.

This is definitely more valuable, given that Bilt points can be transferred to airline and hotel partners, so keep reading…

Here is how it works:

As you can see, you don’t even need a Bilt credit card to earn points. Given that a Bilt account is free to sign up for and comes with all sorts of other benefits, it’s worth signing up even if just for this reason.

But here’s where things get interesting…

There are certain credit cards that already offer high points bonuses for Lyft rides.

For example, the [[ chase-sapphire-reserve.name ]] earns 10x points on all Lyft rides, while the [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.name ]] earns 5x points - both of which are pretty incredible, especially when combined with the extra Bilt points you earn.

Since you can earn 2x points from Bilt just for using any card, this means that you could be earning up to 12x transferrable points per dollar on Lyft rides… 😱

Since all of the aforementioned points are worth about two cents each, you’re potentially earning a 24% return on your spending with Lyft.

Just a few nights ago, I landed in Toronto at 1:00 a.m. and had to take a Lyft to get home, and earned almost 500 points for the ride.

That’s a lotta guacamole, if you know what I mean… 💵

For reference, you can transfer points to Hyatt from the [[ chase-sapphire-preferred-card.casual-card-name ]], which I mentioned above and Bilt. I just booked this insanely nice hotel in India for only 3,500 Hyatt points, which you could easily earn just from a handful of Lyft rides.

So here’s the deal: Don’t write off the method of earning points from rideshare apps, especially not ones that offer transferrable points like this new Bilt/Lyft partnership.

You might be surprised how quickly you can rack up points for meaningful redemptions.

🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday

In case you didn’t see it, there was a trivia question at the top of this email. Just warning you in case you want to guess…

I hope that some of you knew the answer to this right off the bat, but the answer is, of course, Canada—the greatest country on Earth. 🇨🇦

Our coastline clocks in at a whopping 243,000 kilometers (or 151,000 miles if you live in Myanmar or that other country that doesn’t use the metric system).

You’ve probably never scrolled that far North on a map before, but Canada is HUGE.

Given the massive swath of Arctic islands along with the colossal stretches of mainland coastline, it’s not hard to believe that Canada takes the cake on this one.

That’s all for today, y’all.

I’m curious to know how many of you participate in the Bilt program, so tell me:
