Gooooooood morning from Yangon, Myanmar — one of the coolest cities in Southeast Asia.
We’ve got some important updates from Delta, so let’s get into the good stuff:

✈️ Delta revamps its fare types
Delta dropped some major news a few days ago. Its fare types have been completely rebranded, so the way you book flights will start to look a lot different.
Whether this turns out to be a good or bad thing remains to be seen, but let’s break down what’s happening.
The big difference is that Delta is rebranding its fare types to the following:
If you go to Delta’s website or app, you’ll already notice the following changes:
Basic economy is now hidden under “Delta Main” (more on that shortly)
First Class is now “Delta First”
Comfort+ has been changed to “Delta Comfort”
Delta’s goal here is to shift to broader fare buckets, each with various sub-options for things like flexibility, perks, and earning potential.
While the rebranding is already in place, the new fare types go into effect for flights on or after October 1, 2025. If you’re flying before October, the fare options remain the same as before, just with some different names.
After October 1, here is what you’ll see when searching for a flight:

As you can see, no “Basic Economy” option is listed on the search results page. Rather, you’ll need to select “Delta Main,” at which point you’ll see Basic Economy as an option.
This is especially important for you Delta fans — since “Main” is in the name, you might assume all fares include the benefits associated with Delta’s former Main Cabin fares, but that’s not always the case.

Thankfully, you’ll still have to accept the Basic Economy terms during booking, so hopefully you won’t accidentally book this thinking that it’s a more flexible fare.
Additionally, the other fare buckets will now have “Classic” and “Extra” sub-options.
For example, under Delta Premium Select, you’ll see something like this:

These changes seem to open the door for Delta to introduce “basic” premium cabin fares, which, hot take, I actually think could be a good thing.
If you’re booking last minute or don’t need extras like checked bags, lounge access or flexible changes, having a more stripped-down version of First Class or Premium Select could help you save. Think: a “basic” First Class with the same fancy lie-flat seat, just without the add-ons.
For people like me who pack light and book at the last minute, it could be nice to get the premium seat without paying for perks I wouldn’t use anyway.
That said, time will tell whether this actually leads to more discounted options... or whether all-inclusive fares just get pricier.
In the meantime, double-check what you’re booking, especially for flights after October 1, to avoid surprises.

🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday
Which city scored the top spot on the 2025 Happy City Index? |

And the correct answer is… Copenhagen!
The Danish capital takes the crown as the happiest city in the world in 2025, according to the Happy City Index.
We’re talking strong education stats (20% of residents hold master’s degrees), widespread green mobility (69% of travel is eco-friendly!), and an average workweek of just 37 hours.
Oh, and nearly 18% of adults receive coordinated mental health treatment. 👏
Not to mention, Copenhagen manages to have 230 businesses per 1,000 residents and maintain clean air, universal healthcare, and nearly a full park per square kilometer.
We love a good green space! (And while homemade sourdough and whipped butter weren’t part of this measurement, they’d sweep in that category, too).
Zurich, Singapore, Aarhus, and Antwerp round out the top five, showing that health and education have a pretty decent effect on a country’s happiness.
So, if you want to check out some of these stats on your next trip… maybe give Denmark a shot. 💚
