Hey, y’all. Greetings from my little China/North Korea paradise in Changbaishan. I’m actually quite sick today, and I feel like poop. 💩

🤓 Travel Trivia Tuesday

Which resort did Condé Nast Traveler readers crown as the #1 Best Resort in the World in their 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards?

The answer’s waiting at the bottom of today’s newsletter… no cheating. I’ll know.

🇯🇵 Join our Japan masterclass this week

Later this week, we’ll be hosting a masterclass all about booking a trip to Japan with miles and points.

And when I say “we,” I mean Megan, Daniel, and myself.

Between the three of us, we’ve got quite a bit of experience with Japan travel, and we’re excited to share it with you lovely people.

If you’re a Daily Drop Pro member, you can RSVP in the Pro Lounge and hang out with us in the Zoom room!

Otherwise, you’ll join us for the livestream in the Daily Drop Lounge. RSVP here once you're in the Lounge!

💪 Win from the Daily Drop Lounge

Today’s Daily Drop Lounge win goes to one of you absolute legends who snagged Emirates A380 business class from New York (JFK) to Milan for 87,000 points + $435 in taxes.

Daily Drop Lounge win

They even dropped a PSA that May 18–20, 2026, has more availability if you’re trying to recreate this.

To be clear, I’m assuming they used Emirates miles to book this, as 87k is the normal rate between New York and Milan (and the same for Newark to Athens).

You can transfer to Emirates from multiple banks, but only 1:1 from Capital One miles and Bilt Rewards.

So if you were eyeing that new 100k welcome offer from Capital One, now you know exactly what it could book for you. 😉

It’s worth noting that the business class cabin on the A380 is significantly better than the 777, where you might be stuck in a middle seat (yes, even in business class).

Come join the Daily Drop lounge to see more wins like this (or post your own).

🤔 Would you rather? (points edition)

Okay, one more quick thing before we reveal the trivia answer.

We’ve been pretty hyped on this new 100k welcome offer. It’s literally the only time since the card launched four years ago that we’ve seen the offer so high.

But when it comes to what you can actually do with those miles, we want to know what you think.

So tell me:

How would you rather use 100,000 miles?

🌎 Travel Trivia Reveal

We asked which resort snagged the top spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 “Best Resorts in the World” list…

And the answer is… COMO Uma Ubud in Bali (!!!).

It’s no secret that Bali is… popular. 🫠 But this resort stood out to readers by being a little more “off-the-beaten-path” in Ubud.

COMO Uma Ubud is tucked away in the jungle, and with just 46 rooms, suites, and villas, it has a super intimate feel.

In the middle of the property is an 82-foot jade-green pool with rooms and dining areas all around it, so you’re basically swimming in a postcard.

Lots of the spaces come with private courtyards or pools, which makes it dangerously easy to “accidentally” cancel all of your other plans.

It’s also a repeat favorite in these Readers’ Choice Awards (it’s popped up in 2017, 2018, 2022, and now 2025), which tells you this isn’t just a one-year thing.

So if you’ve only ever thought of Bali as a beach destination, consider this your sign to visit the island’s interior and grab a room overlooking some greenery instead.

Or, if you’re really cool, skip Bali and come visit me in Bandung. 😉

Check out some other top resorts from around the world.

That’s all from me, folks. I’m gonna try to take a nap and get some rest before the next leg of my journey.

I hope you all have a lovely rest of your day.

Ciao,
