🤠 A massive transfer bonus round-up
I'm not sure we've ever seen this many

Cheers to the freaking weekend, y’all.
It’s been one heck of a week.
ICYMI, Fat Bear Week 2026 just wrapped up, and it’s been keeping me going as I struggled to breathe this week. 🤧
And like those bears that will emerge from hibernation after winter into a chaotic spring in full swing, with new stuff blooming everywhere…
I too have come back to life from being sick to discover a chaos of new transfer bonuses and travel news. 😵💫
And it’s a LOT, y’all. So let’s drink from the fire hydrant and see what sticks!

🏆 Our Favorite Pick: Transfer Bonus Bonanza
To use Mike’s words, it’s been a bit of a transfer bonus bonanza this week. We’ve basically been bombarded by transfer bonuses since October 1st. Not that we’re complaining. More bonuses = more deals.
But 9 in one day has got to be a record. 🤯
Two of them are already gone, thanks to Bilt’s one-day-only Rent-Day transfer bonuses on the first of the month. But a 125% transfer to Amtrak was kinda interesting if you have some train travel on your radar.
Rove is the biggest culprit, though, dropping THREE transfer bonuses in one day. But let’s run through the whole list. If you want a deeper dive into some of these, don’t miss Mike’s newsletters from Thursday and Friday.
50% to Japan Airlines Mileage Bank
We’ve talked about JAL quite a bit this year already. They’re a great way to get to Japan, obviously, but they also have some sleeper sweet-spot awards to Europe that could be awesome with this transfer bonus.
Mike’s using them later this month to dodge British Airways' notoriously obnoxious fees and surcharges to fly from North America to London for just 28,000 miles… in business class. 😮

They’re also useful for booking airlines that are hard to earn miles for, like American Airlines.
Up to 35% to Qatar Airways
A transfer bonus to Qatar really just means any program that uses Avios, since you can move them freely between programs.
This transfer bonus is tiered in that the more you transfer, the more you get on top:
Up to 49,999 miles will get a 15% transfer bonus
50,000 to 99,999 miles will get a 25% bonus
100,000 miles and higher will get the full 35% bonus
Avios are great for booking Qatar’s own famous Qsuites business class product, which can start at 70,000 Avios from the East Coast. 👇

But you can also use them to book awards on any of their partners, like Iberia, where you can sometimes find business class flights to Madrid or Barcelona for 40,500 Avios before the transfer bonus.
Also, we noticed after the fact that Citi also has a Qatar transfer bonus that’s structured the exact same way as this one. So that’s another transfer bonus and opportunity to grab some Avios.
40% to Flying Blue, the loyalty program of AirFrance/KLM
I have a love-hate relationship with this one.
They have decently reliable economy awards to Europe at a great price, but they recently broke their awards down into tiers, with the most basic awards now non-refundable and not changeable.
Their business class awards are harder to find at a good rate, with higher fees, and now you have to pay extra for lounge access.
Buuut, they offer a 25% discount on award bookings for kids under 12, so that’s a big upside if you’re flying as a family. And the biggest plus is their steady stream of monthly promo awards, which includes discounted flights to Europe from a changing list of U.S. cities.

October 2026 Flying Blue Promo awards
18,750 points to fly economy to Europe from Houston (IAH), Boston (BOS), Raleigh (RDU)
30,000 points for premium economy flights from Miami (MIA), Chicago (ORD), Las Vegas (LAS), Austin (AUS)
45,000 points for a business class seat from Seattle (SEA) to Europe
With this 40% transfer bonus, that’s about ~32,150 points to fly lie-flat business class to Europe from the West Coast. That’s a helluva deal, though it’s important to note that dates are extremely limited for the business class deal, and it’s for the lowest fare – i.e., non-refundable/no changes/no lounge access.

But the transfer bonus softens the blow of paying more for a higher-class fare if you want flexibility and lounge access. 🤔
And if you’re flying the whole family in economy, a seat that costs 18,750 points with this promo becomes ~10,000 points with the kid’s award discount and Rove transfer bonus.
So like I said, a big love-hate relationship.
Another Flying Blue transfer bonus
If you don’t have Rove Miles, you can also transfer MR points to Flying Blue with a 25% transfer bonus through the end of October. (Bonanza strikes again). It’s not quite as good as the Rove ratio, but it’s on par with what we typically see from major banks to Flying Blue, and any transfer bonus is better than none.
If you’re short on MR points, this is my go-to card for earning MR points and 4x on dining and groceries year-round (up to annual caps). 😎
20% transfer bonus to Aeromexico
This same bank also dropped a 20% transfer bonus to Aeromexico, which, if we’re being honest, is decidedly the least sexy transfer bonus on this list. 🤷♀️
MR points usually transfer at a 1:1.6 rate to Aeromexico, so this bumps your transfers up to a 1:1.92 ratio, which sounds pretty good… except Aeromexico redemptions just aren’t that great.
Add in higher surcharges and cancellation fees, and this is a bonus that I’d probably only consider if you already had a specific redemption in mind and are already somewhat familiar with the Aeromexico ecosystem.
20% transfer bonus to British Airways
And not to be outdone, Capital One joined in the fun with a 20% transfer bonus to British Airways, another Avios member.
So if you’ve got a handful of both Rove Miles and Capital One miles, you could take advantage of both of these Avios transfer bonuses and pool your miles for a redemption. The same goes for the Flying Blue bonuses.
Just like with the Qatar bonus, Avios can be transferred between British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Finnair, Qatar Airways, and more.
So a transfer bonus to one is a transfer bonus to all.
Bottom line
The start of a new month usually brings flight deals and transfer bonuses, though not usually this many.
We now have plenty of transfer bonuses from SkyTeam and oneworld partners… but only one sad little transfer to Avianca from earlier last month from the Star Alliance. But October is still new, so more travel deals are undoubtedly on the way.
