šŸ“† A bunch of Black Friday travel stuff

Flights, hotels, cruises... oh my

Estimated read time: 4 minutes and 39 seconds

šŸŒŽ Do you care about the world? If you do, Lufthansaā€™s got good news with their new ā€œGreen Faresā€ which allow you to pay a small fee to offset your carbon footprint. Lufthansa has offered this on some flights, but just announced that theyā€™ll be rolling out to ALL flights worldwide.

Howdy, folks, from beautiful Surakarta, Indonesia - the only place Iā€™ve spent more than a month this entire year.

This time, Iā€™m only here for one night because of the SAS million-mile challenge. But more on that tomorrow. šŸ˜‰

For today, Iā€™m going to mix things up a bit and give you a bunch of quick-hit Black Friday/Cyber Monday travel deals that are still valid when you read this.

Here we go:

āœˆļø Airline Deals

Aer Lingus to Europe

Aer Lingus is offering discounted cash flights to Europe for a large window between January and April of next year, but only when you book your flights by TOMORROW.

Aer Lingus landing page

This means that one-way fares to Europe will be just ā‚¬199 (or a bit over $200 USD), and round-trip fares will beā€¦ wellā€¦ twice that.

I found plenty of good deals, especially from East Coast cities like New York to Dublin, at the advertised price:

New York to Dublin for $436 in Google Flights

But even if you live further away from Europe, flights from cities like San Francisco are only a tiny bit more expensive.

Examples of various flight deals with the Aer Lingus Sale

Again, this deal is only good until tomorrow.

JetBlue hotels

Did you know that you can book hotels through JetBlue and earn JetBlue points and even elite status?

Thatā€™s all thanks to their booking platform Paisley by JetBlue, which is currently offering 3x points and discounted rates for hotel bookings:

Paisley by JetBlue landing page

This is pretty cool for JetBlue fansā€¦ If you donā€™t remember, I wrote a newsletter all about how to earn JetBlue status and how their ā€œtileā€ system works, so go check that out.

I found some pretty decent deals on this site, like these hotels in San Diego:

Sample search in San Diego showing various hotels and potential earnings

The discounted rates combined with the bonus points and tiles toward status are great for JetBlue loyalists.

This deal lasts until December 4th, so you have a couple of days to explore. Just go to the booking site and log in with your JetBlue credentials.

Norse Atlantic

Iā€™ve wanted to try out Norse for a while nowā€¦ they consistently have the best flight deals to Europe.

And while it looks like a very bare-bones experience, Iā€™ve actually heard really positive things about them.

Even more positive is their current Black Friday sale, which offers dirt-cheap flights to Europe.

Norse Atlantic Black Friday

As you can see, there are lots of deals from various U.S. cities to various European cities.

Among the best deals is Las Vegas to London for just $129 one-way, though each time I search, I see fewer and fewer seats availableā€¦

Las Vegas to London for $129

This deal requires the use of promo code BFRIDAY when searching, but Google Flights shows the prices with that promo code applied already.

This deal is good until tomorrow at midnight, so definitely jump on it sooner rather than later.

Honestly, there were too many airline deals to count, but those are some of the highlights, in my opinion.

Moving on to hotelsā€¦

šŸØ Hotel Deals

Iā€™ve already told you about the following deals in more detail, all of which are still currently valid. So click the links below to read more about each:

On top of that, we have a couple of other deals that we havenā€™t talked about:

Hiltonā€™s long-term sale

If youā€™re looking for a deal that lasts beyond the next day or two, here it is.

Hilton is currently having a ā€œSeason to Stayā€ sale, valid for stays all the way through April 21st, 2025.

Hilton will offer a 20% discount on stays in the U.S. and Canada, with a few other requirements:

  • You must book your stay by January 5th

  • You must stay a minimum of two nights

  • You must book your stay at least seven nights in advance

I found plenty of good deals using this rate all over the U.S., including a ton for under $100 per night in cities like Denver:

Two hotels in Denver for under $100

This is just an all-around good dealā€¦ but not one you need to jump on today or tomorrow.

Ohā€¦ and if you do book cash stays with Hilton, make sure you use a card that will earn you a crap load of Hilton points.

Hyattā€™s sale in the Americas

Ah, Hyattā€¦ my boo.

Hyatt has so many promotions going on right now that I keep accidentally earning extra points and rewards because I forget that Iā€™ve registered for them.

But one of the best ones for U.S. travelers is a 25% discount on stays in the Americas (a.k.a. all of North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, etc.).

Hyatt's Cyber Sale banner image

Really, Hyatt? Thatā€™s the best slogan you could come up with?

Here are the deets:

  • You must book your stay by December 9th

  • Valid for stays through April 20th, 2025

  • You must use promo code SAVENOW when searching

  • Non-members will only get a 20% discountā€¦ so just become a member

Another detail to be aware of is that the sale is ā€œup toā€ 25% off for members, so some hotels will have smaller discounts or no discount at allā€¦

Still, there are some good deals, like this hotel in Santo Domingo for $145 per night:

Hyatt hotel in Santo Domingo for $145

If you want to venture further south, you can even book hotels in cities like Santiago, Chile, for around the same priceā€¦ although, in this case, youā€™d be better off transferring 5,000 points to Hyatt and booking it that way.

Hyatt Santiago Chile for 5,000 points per night

Okay, moving onā€¦ time for some cruise deals.

šŸ›³ļø Cruise Deals

Iā€™ll be honest: Iā€™ve only ever been on one cruise - and that was in 2011 when I was hired to sing on a Norwegian Cruise to Bermudaā€¦

Oh, how times have changed.

Anywho, most of the best cruise deals have expired already, but here is one good one that will make family travelers happy. šŸ‘‡

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean Black Friday Sale Page

There are three main components to the current cruise deal with Royal Caribbean:

  1. Huge discounts on cruises

  2. 60% off for the second sailer

  3. Kids sail free (two kids free in the same room as two paying adults)

This deal is good for bookings through December 9th, so you also have a bit of time to peruse these deals.

This three-night Caribbean cruise would only cost you $696 (including all taxes and fees) for an entire family of four (two adults and two kids), which seems pretty solid:

Example of a 3-day Bahamas cruise for $329 per person

This is also just an all-around great deal for family travelers looking to maximize their dollars with a larger group of travelers.

If you look at the sale page, youā€™ll see plenty of other options in this price range for more expensive and longer cruises.
